A Few Pages

so my chat is over (although they still go on!) and i managed to get 2 pages done today. not bad considering i had to leave my chair for a soccer game and to buy 2 new toilets (whoa nellie do i live a glamorous life or what?)

3o minute masterpiece (that was tweaked a bit after the time frame). had to use 3 rectangles, 2 squares, 2 fasteners (i used staples) and the text had to be fully justified. whew. this was tough!

and then for my chat, the freebie was the graphic block title

we had a fun time. now i’m going to get off the computer for awhile and visit with  my travelin’ hubby. he’s been gone for 6 days.

Saturday Scraplift

each week at Designer Digitals, Lynn picks a layout for the saturday scraplift and then 2-3 CT members lift the page. i haven’t done one of these challenges in forever, but i really loved the layout lynn chose so this week i made sure i was the first one to post that i would do it! (you have to be quick….everyone loves this challenge). since lynn lives in New Zealand, her saturday morning is our friday night…so i was able to post the page already.

a couple of weeks ago my FIL got very sick. very very sick. we were up in MI for the MSU v. Iowa game (we are still mourning the last 2 seconds of that game) and while we were there, he was admitted to the hospital for legionella pneumonia. it was really scary. by sunday morning, we were all in detroit at St. John’s Hospital and he had made a big recovery. one of the good things that came out of the scare was that we got to spend a few hours with the family. and that meant our sweet niece leah.

MSU Spartans!!!

yes we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary over the weekend (toasting the spartans with our champagne) and i have yet to blog about it but this is a bit more important right now.

Looking forward to a great shindig tonight with 50 of our friends and family. if you don't see another post for awhile, at least you'll know i have a good reason for not being on the computer.

his birthday is actually on father's day so the celebrations will continue with a lobster dinner saturday night with our family and presents on sunday. good times!

My new vehicle

As many of you know, a month ago i was in an accident and bessie had to be retired. luckily (?) my husband had not sold the durango that he had been driving prior to getting a company car so there was a vehicle for me to drive.

well, we decided to get the durango checked out because there are some issues (none of the windows go down, the tail pipe is rusted out and the brakes were starting to squeak). so we took it to our favorite repair shop and got this "to do" list in order of importance:

1. brakes (front) $209.90
2. shocks (all) $523.08
3. water pump $250.00
4. muffler and tailpipe $370.18
notice that this does not solve the fact that none of my windows go down…..

they like us, so we’re getting a 20% discount off the whole order, but guess what this means???

yep. my new vehicle is the durango for the forseeable future.

Attempts at movement are futile

yeah, i’m taking some liberties with the  movie line, but i’m in pain…i’m entitled.

do you ever wrench your back for no apparent reason doing something that you do a hundred times a day (like sit down in a chair)???

well that’s what i did, and i have no clue why it hurts like it does but moving really isn’t worth my time right now.

sigh.
