This is the ROCK that i have been under for 2 months. i am the new E-book editor for Designer Digitals and this was our first project and oh what a project it was! the whole calendar was designed, edited and hotlinked in just over 60 days! That is 365 scrapbook pages/hybrid projects that were created while 2 of the designers had to bug out from Ike and another one had her 5th child! what an adventure!! I have to give a shout out to my team of uber-talented designers: Sarah Brown, Kellie Mize, Cassie Jones, Bonnie Wiggins, Kayleigh Wiles, Katrina Kennedy, Kim Weiss, Maureen Spell and Sara Horton. Additionally i have to thank Katie and Randy Pertiet for giving me this job. It is absolutely my dream job and i couldn't be more thrilled and honored to work for them. 2 greater people you'd be hard pressed to find inside or outside the world of scrapping.

this calendar is digital but that doesn't mean it's only for digital scrappers. you can either download it as a pdf or you can print it out and have it bound. either way, it is an amazing inspiration resource! we'll be having challenges on the designer digitals blog starting in january that coincide with the calendar so make sure you bookmark it!

but don't listen to me…check it out for yourself!

Heading out to Florida and a giveaway!

Anyone ever been to Cape Coral, Florida? I'm heading out tomorrow to do a store opening promo at the new AC Moore store there. I will be signing books, talking about the books and possibly making some friendship cards from noon – 2pm on Saturday, Oct. 4th. Should be fun!

Anyway, in honor of the trip, I'm going to giveaway a copy of the new book. So if you are interested, just post to this thread and i'll have the kids help me pick a winner when i get home sunday night.

Do I really sound like that?

Seriously. In my head, that is not how i sound! LOL

Fiskars TV

Kitty and I did this spot at CHA this summer. Suzanne and her crew were so down to earth and easy going. we did this whole thing in one take. oh, and yes, i played 2nd fiddle to kitty. :)

The TV spot was arranged by our darling fetus May to help us promote our latest book Fabulous Friendships. Thanks May!

We are scheduled on Sunday from 2-3pm EST. there will be a book giveaway (thank you ginger!) and Kitty and I will have a little extra giveaway of our own. I’m not going to tell what it is, but here’s a HINT!

so if you are near your computer on Sunday afternoon, join us on the message boards for a chat! you will have to register first (but that is super easy). we’ll see you there!

New blog!

I’m hanging out in Ohio at my folks house this weekend (for my 20th high school reunion….oy!) but i wanted to post a quick link to my new favorite blog!

Find Your Groove

Be kind, Kitty and i are still getting it all up and running and making it look pretty.

The check is in the mail Nik

My sister is an addict.

she’s addicted to blogs.

and i don’t mean she’s addicted to reading blogs (although she does a little of that too) because it’s much more serious than that. no, she’s addicted to HAVING blogs. she builds them from the ground up, she makes them all pretty and then she maintains them…sometimes! LOL

i think it’s the thrill of the hunt for her. she loves surfing the web for a concept, then she needs to buy the domain name (which sometimes means you have to get rather creative) and then there’s the decorating. she is a photoshop goddess. back in the day when she worked for deloitte and touche she was a certified photoshop trainer. when i say goddess, i’m serious! but, because she was a graphic designer for an incredibly conservative accounting firm, she never used brushes. can you imagine???

so i just introduced her to brushes and WHOA….i’ve fed the addiction. guess that makes me an enabler. and that blog isn’t even active yet (or is it Nik?) but check out the perk i get for enabling her with brushes!

Nik’s Picks

and for the record, i love stretch-tite too! :)

Hanging with the Fiskateers

Our good friend May Flaum, our favorite fiskateer asked Kitty and I to be the guest bloggers on the  Fiskateers website to talk about our book. And yes, i’ve been slow to post about the book on my blog…which seems weird i’m sure. but truth is, i can’t figure out how to put the amazon link in my sidebar.

sigh. i’m a blog flunkie. but here’s the link for now, until i figure it out….we are sooo excited to see our baby released into the wild. it’s been such a great ride.

so if you get a chance, hop on over to the Fiskateers website where Kitty and I pay homage to Monty…..the Sandfire Bearded Dragon. :)

Yes, I’m still at it…

but it’s not just Harry Potter’s magic that has my attention…..i’ve been very busy working on a little magic of my own! i’ll spill the beans on that tomorrow when i get the final details worked out. in the meantime, i have managed to finish the 2nd book. :)

so as to not have a horribly boring post i leave you with this photo of zo after a barnyard birthday party at a nature farm yesterday.
Zo_in_the_pig_hat

there’s a lot more i need to blog about, i need to do a catch up post. hopefully tomorrow….until then….
peace.
